Narrative:
Captain's nd displayed 'loss of map' no ECAM message. Captain's FMGC had failed. Did not try for a reset because the first officer stated he had this problem before;they tried to reset and lost both fmgcs. Continued to destination in VFR weather. Landing uneventful.

Title: An A319 Captain's ND lost all FMGC data. The First Officer advised to not try a reset as he had experienced the failure of both NDs under similar circumstances.
Narrative: Captain's ND displayed 'LOSS OF MAP' no ECAM message. Captain's FMGC had failed. Did not try for a reset because the First Officer stated he had this problem before;they tried to reset and lost BOTH FMGCs. Continued to destination in VFR weather. Landing uneventful.
