Narrative:
While level at FL350; engine oil filter bypass light for the number two engine illuminated. The crew performed the oil filter bypass checklist; but the light would not extinguish. The number two engine was shut down and secured as per the checklist. An emergency was declared. The aircraft landed on the runway and taxied to the gate with no further incident.

Title: During their initial descent for landing a B737-700 flight crew received an engine oil filter bypass warning light. They shut the engine down per their checklist; declared an emergency and maintained their descent profile to an uneventful landing at their destination.
Narrative: While level at FL350; engine oil filter bypass light for the number two engine illuminated. The crew performed the Oil Filter Bypass Checklist; but the light would not extinguish.
