Narrative:
The cockpit and crew were unaware that the cockpit PA system was not working. We were mid service when severe turbulence hit. I was banged between the seat and lifted off the floor due to up and down turbulence then held down by passengers till it was safe.

Title: A B757 Flight Attendant reported severe turbulence encountered enroute with no warning. It was later determined that the PA system was inoperative; a fact which neither the crew nor the flight attendants were aware of.
Narrative: The cockpit and crew were unaware that the cockpit PA system was not working. We were mid service when severe turbulence hit. I was banged between the seat and lifted off the floor due to up and down turbulence then held down by passengers till it was safe.
