Narrative:
We locked-out the wrong [bleed] valve due to the paperwork being vague.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: Two mechanics report they inadvertently locked-out (deactivated) a Pressure Regulating Valve (PRV) instead of a High Pressure Shut-off Valve (HPSOV) on the left engine of a B767-300 ETOPS aircraft. Both valves look the same; have the same name (HPSOV); same Part Number; and are interchangeable; but the location of each is allegedly not clear in the maintenance illustrations.
Narrative: We locked-out the wrong [bleed] valve due to the paperwork being vague.
