Narrative:
After landing at dfw and exiting runway 31R I was taxiing west bound on taxiway Z approaching 35C. A police officer traveling southbound on P at a high rate of speed was on a direct collision course with my aircraft. At the last second he slammed on the brakes; made a hard left turn and crossed about 5 to 10 ft off of my right wing to go behind me. The officer did have his lights on I suspect they were responding to a call. It is unclear to me whether he noticed me earlier or if he expected me to give way to him/her. I made a statement that a police officer almost collided with me to ground control and was asked if I wanted a number to call to file a report. It was not necessary; but I was met by a dfw operations representative on the ramp to get a statement. There was no collision and I did not have to make any aggressive actions with my aircraft to avoid collision.
