Narrative:
Our company issued performance data for takeoff did not account for a temperature increase or a weight increase. We requested new departure data via ACARS. Our new data showed that at the current temperature, 102 degrees F, and at our current weight, 379900#, we were legal for a maximum power takeoff provided the air conditioning packs and pneumatic sources were all turned off. The company issued instructions state that if temperature and weight are correct, then the data may be used. We followed these instructions and took off. Later we discovered that another section of the departure data, down near the bottom, stated that the aircraft was 2800# overweight due to temperature. Our written instruction sheet did not direct us to check this, nor did the computer print out that we were overweight. Since this data is not easily seen, nor called for, the computer should be programmed to catch this and inform us of our overweight condition. I plan to check into this.

Title: TKOF OVER GROSS ACCOUNT TEMPERATURE.
Narrative: OUR COMPANY ISSUED PERFORMANCE DATA FOR TKOF DID NOT ACCOUNT FOR A TEMP INCREASE OR A WT INCREASE. WE REQUESTED NEW DEP DATA VIA ACARS. OUR NEW DATA SHOWED THAT AT THE CURRENT TEMP, 102 DEGS F, AND AT OUR CURRENT WT, 379900#, WE WERE LEGAL FOR A MAX PWR TKOF PROVIDED THE AIR CONDITIONING PACKS AND PNEUMATIC SOURCES WERE ALL TURNED OFF. THE COMPANY ISSUED INSTRUCTIONS STATE THAT IF TEMP AND WT ARE CORRECT, THEN THE DATA MAY BE USED. WE FOLLOWED THESE INSTRUCTIONS AND TOOK OFF. LATER WE DISCOVERED THAT ANOTHER SECTION OF THE DEP DATA, DOWN NEAR THE BOTTOM, STATED THAT THE ACFT WAS 2800# OVERWEIGHT DUE TO TEMP. OUR WRITTEN INSTRUCTION SHEET DID NOT DIRECT US TO CHK THIS, NOR DID THE COMPUTER PRINT OUT THAT WE WERE OVERWT. SINCE THIS DATA IS NOT EASILY SEEN, NOR CALLED FOR, THE COMPUTER SHOULD BE PROGRAMMED TO CATCH THIS AND INFORM US OF OUR OVERWT CONDITION. I PLAN TO CHK INTO THIS.
