Narrative:

We flew two legs. On the second leg the cockpit door kept getting stuck on a piece of trim on the floor connecting two pieces of flooring. During cruise I needed to go to the bathroom. When I opened the door the entire door separated from the frame. It took myself and one flight attendant about 4 minutes to re-secure the door. It appeared to us that when the door had to go over the trim piece it moved the door up enough to disconnect it from the bottom connector. The emergency disconnect pin on the inside of the door was secure.
