Anomaly | Deviation - Procedural Clearance Ground Incursion Taxiway |
Narrative:
Landed on runway 25R and exited runway on taxiway charlie pulling clear of runway limit lines and stopped. My spinner was nearly protruding into taxiway. Ground cleared me to my destination 'via juliet golf.' looking ahead; across the taxiway in to the southeast corner I see the marker 'J' but nothing but ramp beyond. Looking to left at ground nearest my aircraft I see no markers. Believing I am at intersection of charlie and juliet and hearing confirmation from my copilot holding the airport diagram plate (communication/instruction). I turned left on the taxiway. Halfway to my northwest apron destination; ground advises me I was 'cleared on juliet.' I was on alpha. On departure I saw the alpha sign on the northwest corner of runway 25R and taxiway C. Perhaps painting the taxiway designation on the taxiway would prevent this - similar to 'stop' at road intersections. Also note this is not my home airport.

Title: A Pilot departed LVK Runway 25R onto Taxiway C with clearance onto Taxiway J and instead turned left on Taxiway A because his assistant read the chart incorrectly and he viewed the Taxiway J sign beyond Taxiway A.
