Narrative:
A B737 was flying at FL380; but our strips showed FL360 due to the d-side missing a computer update. This aircraft would next enter mmy center airspace on a non-radar routing and had to be manually coordinated. The d-side coordinated the aircraft at FL360 when he was really at FL380. When the aircraft checked on; the d-side was off line and did not hear the altitude that the aircraft checked on at. He came back on line just after the aircraft checked on; and realizing that I was talking to the aircraft; assumed he was at FL360 and checked the strip as level. As I was still acknowledging the pilot and giving him ride reports; I saw the d-side reach up to check that the aircraft was on frequency so I never looked at the strip. The aircraft entered mmy airspace at an altitude other than the one coordinated. Recommendation; procedures in effect are sufficient. Human error.

Title: ZHU Controller described a failed coordination event with MMY Center; noting current procedures are sufficient and that human error was the causal factor.
