Narrative:
While preparing to land the landing gear was selected down. I noticed the left main gear 'green' light was inoperative and a red in-transit light illuminated. I notified the tower we had an unsafe gear indication and would need some time to complete a checklist before landing. I; the pilot not flying; completed the landing gear not down and locked checklist and also the alternate gear extension checklist. Upon completion of the checklist the red in-transit light extinguished and 3 green lights were illuminated. We landed with no further events.

Title: A BE400 executed a go-around when the left main landing gear failed to extend on final approach. Upon completion of the Alternate Gear Extension checklist the gear indicated safe and a normal landing was made.
