Narrative:
I was performing an ILS 17 approach into gyi. Prior to reaching the final approach fix; I was asked by sherman tower how the approach would end. I responded that I would like to miss the approach and depart south east. I was asked to report the final approach fix and 2 mile final; which I did. After reporting 2 mile final; I was cleared to land; which is not what I wanted -- just go missed and depart. I was then approved to miss. I started the climb out and then turned south east -- which put me into the potential conflict with an aircraft just taking off from gyi. Cause: confused communication with gyi controller. My failure to execute the first part of the published miss and to not start the turn south east until reaching 2;000 ft MSL. Prevention: clear instruction from tower controller that takes into account departing traffic. I should have either done the published miss or asked for clarification from the tower.
