Narrative:
I made a radar hand off to sector 78 instead of sector 98. Sector 78 accepted the hand off and I switched the aircraft to sector 78. I didn't realize this was the wrong sector until it was brought to my attention later in the evening. This was a mistake on my part. I may have been distracted by the d-side; that I don't feel I needed at the time; but it still comes down to being my error.

Title: ZID Controller described a hand off to the wrong sector event; one reporter listing the lack of consistency with regard to sector altitude stratum's as a contributing factor.
