Narrative:
A crj-700 aircraft was here for a c-check; mechanic X performed a service check in accordance with (in accordance with) crj-700 aircraft maintenance manual (amm) 29-11-11 on hydraulic system number 2 accumulator. [As] an inspector-mechanic; I performed a confirmation follow-up check of the service check on number 2 hydraulic system as stated on the task card in our maintenance computer. During a records department [audit] update; it was discovered that a brake system accumulator was installed in the number 1 hydraulic system. I did not know this at the time of the follow-up check. At that time I did not know about the number 1 hydraulic system accumulator. Suggest [better] attention to detail.
