Narrative:

Ferry flight. Brought an inbound in about 55 minutes late; picked up the outbound and as we were settling in our seats after the exterior (first officer) and interior (myself) inspections I had the L1 closed and as we were settling into our seats we noticed a very gradual and increasing speed in what appeared to be a pull foreword by the tug. First officer looked and said there was no tug attached and I mentioned that the parking brake was set. [It was] total darkness around the airplane thus very difficult to get references. First officer made several calls on the intercom and I finally turned off the parking brake and turned on the hydraulic pump while gradually holding the brake pedals. As the airplane came to a full stop we were only about 100 yards from the hangers ahead. Ground personnel had forgotten to chock the plane. I have done the ferries and our planes are always chocked until they get clearance from the cockpit to pull chocks.

Original NASA ASRS Text

Title: An air carrier crew reported that while performing flight station preflights they noticed the aircraft rolling with increasing speed and discovered they were freely rolling because the chocks were not installed. The parking brake was reapplied with hydraulic pressure on which stopped the aircraft.
