Narrative:
Once aircraft X entered my airspace he was given a crossing restriction to cross denny at FL330. When scanning; I realized that a C650 was crossing traffic for aircraft X at FL380. Aircraft X was still level at FL390 when he was told disregard descent clearance and maintain FL390. The j-ring was utilized. The pilot stated that he had begun his descent and he would have to go back up. I then told aircraft X to turn 80 degrees left on a heading of 010. Shortly after the turn I asked aircraft X to verify that he was level at FL390. He replied 'getting there'. Soon thereafter separation was broken. I was trying to remain proficient in my ATC skills after a three week period where I did not work any traffic at all. My first mistake was letting three weeks elapse before plugging in. I need to ensure that I stay current; and feel comfortable at the same time. In the future I plan to work as much as possible not just getting the minimum time required.
