Narrative:

Flying from orlando, fl to columbus, oh and over augusta, GA the right engine fire warning activated. Engine was shut down and we diverted into bush field, augusta. Descent, approach, landing uneventful. In my opinion, the cause of this incident (which turned out to be a false warning) was improper maintenance corrective action on the fire warning system itself which had been worked on for a similar problem the flight before ours. It is further indicative of a lack of quality maintenance quality control on the medium large transport fleet at company, as this type experience (i.e. Repeated fire warnings falsely activating) is, as I have experienced lately, quite common.
