Narrative:
Air carrier X declared an emergency for a cracked wind shield; was issued descent clearance to 100 and rerouted. After listening to the tape; I missed a point out to an adjacent center which I thought I had done but was actually talking to an adjacent approach control when I thought I was talking to the center. After clearing him direct to the airport; I called the center sector again to tell them he was turning direct to the airport but soon after found out that was actually the first time I had talked to the center.
Original NASA ASRS Text
