Narrative:
We arrived at rdu and had 30 min to change airplanes 10 gates away, due checklists, preflts, call up new flight plan, check WX and weight and balance, get clearance, etc. By the time we exited our arriving aircraft to walk to the other gate, we had 20 min to complete the above. As a result, I did not take note of the flight plan route. When clearance was issued, I did not notice a change. The first officer did not say there was any change. I then flew the original route only to be corrected by ATC to fly the 2ND route which was in accord with the clearance received. Next time, on time departures are the last priority. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following. No conflict resulted from the incident. No information as to why the first officer did not confirm the change in routing. He had heard the clearance but failed to make any notations and the change in routing did not register because of the rushing to get out on time. Says next time, he will slow down. Flight rdu to bos. Discussed the incident with ZDC on arrival bos.
