Narrative:
Aft galley carrier box housing did not lock in. Mechanic could not fix problem and refused to take the carrier box off. He said it '...had to stay with the aircraft.' the mechanic said the carrier box was too small for the housing and was not the correct one. He resolved the problem by taping the left side and bottom of carrier to the housing. In an emergency situation the box would not have stayed in the housing and would certainly have fallen out as the carrier box was not locked in; but only taped on two sides!
