Narrative:

We had all proper release papers for this flight before flight departed. However; I discovered a performance issue after we were airborne. We departed the gate in pdx. Performance package shows the runway length of runway 21 is 6;320 ft. This conflicts with what is on our commmercial chart (airport diagram). Called dispatch to report the issue and find accurate runway length from the dispatch office. Communication was poor and we decided to talk on the phone at destination. [We] called portland approach control on VHF radio to answer a question. They said they talked with their tower supervisor and the runway length for runway 3 or runway 21 is 6;000 ft. They do not know how we got 6;320 ft. Thus we departed this morning using the wrong performance numbers for takeoff. Runway 21 is 6;000 ft not 6;320. It appears our performance vendor might have some bad data which was handed down to us in our release packet.

Title: An air carrier Captain noted that the PDX takeoff performance data for Runway 21 was inaccurate because the performance vendor used 6;320 FT for calculations while the actual length is 6;000 FT.
