Narrative:
[I was] working an A320 aircraft; hurrying up to get a cabin check completed to get aircraft to the gate. During completion of paperwork; the step called to 'verify' on ECAM that overwing emergency doors [hatches] were armed; [with] indication showing on ECAM. I glanced at the step on the card; failing to read it completely. [I] visually checked that the doors were installed and closed; not checking that the word 'slide' was showing on the ECAM. At the gate; the flight crew on their checks noticed the slides were not armed; visual indication on ECAM of overwing door slides not armed; and [they] alerted maintenance. The plungers were [then] armed.during the cabin check; the overwing emergency exit doors were not armed. Per log page XXX [report]; [maintenance] found plungers extended [not armed] at both overwing exits. Pushed plungers back to 'armed' position. Operational check [was] normal. Verified overwing slide bottles were not pinned in aft cargo bin as well. I need to take the time to completely read the task card steps; even when trying to make an estimated time of release (etr).
