Narrative:
Aircraft arrived with head lice infested passenger. Given general maintenance manual (gmm) concerning problem and resolution--gmm says to replace all coverings; pillows etc.; in the cabin zone. [I] asked for help on research of zone. Inspection found definition as we know it; (first; business; and coach). Maintenance controller manager; mr X; and three controllers [none at our station] all agreed that all coach seats needed to be addressed per gmm. Parts ordered aircraft to go out of service; then (a new?) maintenance control manager; mr. Y; called and ordered me to only follow the gmm for a single seat and one on either side. I argued and was again ordered. I suggested affected seat row and one fore and aft and was told 'ok'. I allowed management pressure to change my direction because of his company position when I should have told him to contact local management and have them do his bidding.
