While performing the exterior inspection my first officer was struck by baggage tug. EMS attended to his injuries and transported him to the emergency room. The cause appeared to be a lack of awareness by the ground employee. Perhaps we need better ground safety training of ramp employees.

Narrative: While performing the exterior inspection my First Officer was struck by baggage tug. EMS attended to his injuries and transported him to the emergency room.
