Narrative:
I was working on an A319 aircraft; inspecting RAT-assembly and doors in deployed position per job card XXX. Before [RAT] retraction; I shouted hydraulics [power] coming on several times and heard no response. I turned hydraulic pump blue [system] on and heard shouting; at this time I turned the hydraulic pump off. This is what I know. When I heard shouting from other technicians working on the aircraft; I turned the [blue] hydraulic pump off. [I] came out off the aircraft when I found that damage had occurred. Lack of communication and teamwork; even though this job card [inspection RAT-assembly and doors] was assigned for three technicians with two other job cards; I feel the jobs were not divided evenly among us. I was working on a job that required more than one person. In this event we failed to discuss this at the beginning of the jobs and plan how we are going to help each other. Seeing everybody busy with what they were doing; I failed to ask for help. Supervisor was notified; damage was inspected and found to be within allowable limits; temporary repair and final restoration deferred in logbook. 1. Conflicting jobs like this should not be scheduled at the same time.2. I should not have felt pressured to do the job by myself. The job cards that require more than one person should not be divided but worked on as a group. 3. Better communication with my co-workers before performing the job.
