Narrative:
The captain made the PA for flight attendants to prepare for landing. I made the PA for landing and began to pick up service items from the passengers. I was in the galley putting away items as the #4 continued retrieving service items when suddenly; out of nowhere; we hit (severe) turbulence which threw me up against the ceiling which I struck with my left shoulder; arm; and neck area. The #4 was coming into the galley and was thrown off her feet in the first class cabin aisle. We both were lifted off the floor. A commuter flight attendant was sitting in the jump seat and witnessed the injuries to both of us. The captain did not have any notice that turbulence was near therefore did not give any hint of urgency or mention that turbulence was coming when he made the prepare for landing PA. We were; thus; unaware that turbulence was going to hit. There was no time or opportunity to get to my jump seat when the turbulence hit.
