Narrative:
I was being marshaled into the gate with a marshaller and two wing walkers. At approximately the last foot or so of taxi I felt a rumble. I stopped the aircraft immediately. The marshaller looked to the right wing walker and then back to me; at which time he gave me the stop signal. The jet bridge was connected and the passengers deplaned normally. The first officer then advised that the right wing appeared to be over a fuel pumper cart. The cart was under the wing starting approximately 5-6 feet inboard from the wingtip; to the full length of the cart of approximately 7-8 feet and making contact with the underside of the wing. The cart was in a marked box on the pavement that would indicate that it was in the proper position for safe operation. There was another marked box for cart placement on the pavement approximately 6-8 feet forward of the other that was vacant. The marshaller told me the pumper cart was in the marked wrong box.

Title: While being marshaled into the gate a CRJ 200 struck a fuel pumper truck that was parked in a 'marked' box that was not appropriate for the aircraft type.
