Narrative:
Received a call from the aft cabin that the last rows of economy were complaining of an acrid smell - like something was burning. Next; passengers throughout the entire cabin complained about the burning smell. Upon smelling the burning fumes in the cockpit; we donned our O2 masks and performed the appropriate qrc. We divided the cockpit and my copilot ran the qrc/ECAM procedures while I asked for a descent from ATC. Flight attendants informed us that the fumes were getting worse. I declared an emergency and diverted toward ZZZ. Dispatch was notified. We landed in ZZZ uneventfully.
