Narrative:
At dfw on runway 17 center the centerline stripe is not visible from 1;000 ft down the runway to 3;000 ft down the runway. It is completely covered by black tire marks when looking at it during landing. This blackout of the centerline reduces safety at a critical time during landing especially with a crosswind.
