Narrative:
During cruise flight I detected intermittent abnormal engine vibrations and 'skipping'. All other engine indications were normal. I varied engine power/RPM/mixture settings to try to determine the cause of the vibrations as well as which engine was vibrating; but was unsuccessful. As I was near an airport; I elected to make a precautionary landing. The rest of the flight was uneventful.
