Narrative:
In cruise flight; the left IRS failed; [so] we completed the QRH checklist. This new QRH does not address how to restore input to the attitude/heading indicators. Our old checklists did address switching to attitude mode. The new QRH is inadequate for this irregular procedure. This could lead to an accident; i.e. Not having attitude/heading indications.
