Narrative:
Enroute using GPS and WAC chart; I realized there was a problem with the GPS. I was over (way off track) a military airport; and due to the haze and being so close to a class C airport; I decided to land and avoid conflict with that airport's approach. I called the military tower and was given permission to land if I declared an emergency; which I did and was then able to sort out my navigation without the stress and worry of violating restricted airspace while studying the chart.
