Narrative:
I was unloading/loading a flight and all operations were going as planned. During the operations; my fellow employees X and Y had notified me that a liquid was coming from the bottom of the aircraft. The liquid appeared to be coming out of the hot spout that normally shoots out water and we had assumed that was the liquid that was coming out of the aircraft was the hot water. We had no idea that the aircraft was leaking hydraulic fluid since the liquid was coming out close to the hot spout. I was notified [the next day] of what had happened to the aircraft by my manager. The flight was diverted to another station for maintenance due to the liquid coming out was hydraulic fluid. The next time an event like this occurs we will take actions immediately and notify every lead person at the station and the crew of the situation to avoid another severe situation like this again.
