Narrative:
We were given the crossing restriction of fl 240 at turlo and then descend to fl 200. We had the FMC correctly programmed and the captain was flying/monitoring the aircraft/FMC while I was off getting ATIS. The autopilot in LNAV/VNAV started a slow descent after turlo but I guess it was not fast enough for oak ATC. They did not say anything to us (flight crew) but they reported to the system chief that we were seven miles past turlo before we descended and complained. That's automation for you. Get used to it. If you don't like it; change the automation.
