Narrative:
We were repositioning the aircraft after having maintenance performed at an off line station. During the takeoff roll; we received an ECAM message: brakes-released. The takeoff was aborted. After running through ECAM actions; we determined that the aircraft was safe to move and we returned to the maintenance hangar.after inspection; the mechanic determined that a set of wires had not been reconnected properly which most likely caused the initial ECAM message.
