Narrative:
September 2011; around xa:00am at ZZZ hangar. We had a brake temperature light system inoperative (inoperative) on an ATR aircraft; on the left-hand inboard side. All parts were pre-pulled [from stores/parts] for an upper [electrical] harness and an inboard compensator. The parts were removed and replaced in accordance with (in accordance with) the component maintenance manual (cmm) 32-18-23. The left-hand upper harness pulled for us was incorrect; it was a harness for the right-hand side. The correct harness for the left-hand side was [a different] part number (P/north). Suggest confirming parts given to us are the correct part for the job; in accordance with the illustrated parts catalog (ipc).
