Narrative:

During approach; in reported moderate turbulence; when flaps were extended beyond 28 degrees; level 2 slat disag warning displayed; along with stick shaker; intermittently; and repeatedly. Go around initiated; and QRH referenced. On second approach we encountered same conditions with no anomalies in pitch nor roll noted with auto flight system off. Turbulence diminished below approximately 400 ft and no other warnings noted during landing.

Title: MD11 flight crew experiences a Level 2 SLAT DISAG warning; along with stick shaker when the flaps are extended beyond 28 degrees during approach in moderate turbulence. A go around is initiated and the second approach is completed successfully with smooth air below 400 FT AGL.
