Narrative:
While enroute; the captain notified me of a pitch trim problem. When the flight arrived in the ZZZ vicinity; the captain was not comfortable landing at ZZZ due to the destination wx and due to his maintenance issue. He proceeded to divert to ZZZ1 and I advised him that was not our best option due to the current wx conditions at and around ZZZ1 and that ZZZ6 would work better for us. After some convincing; the flight turned around and landed at ZZZ6. While on the ground; we discussed the maintenance issue with maintenance control. After the problem was corrected; the flight departed and landed at the original destination which was ZZZ. While enroute on the return leg; they developed the pitch trim problem again. The capt notified me he was declaring an emergency and was going to continue to ZZZ2. I suggested since it was an emergency that we divert to ZZZ3; ZZZ4; or ZZZ5 which were along the route. The capt replied that they were continuing to ZZZ2 as planned and that ZZZ2 had long runways and crash fire rescue equipment.
