Narrative:
When we enter class ii airspace on the 757 - we are to select the terrain override switch to off. When we reenter class I airspace if we forgot to turn it back on. The old approach descent checklist would call for egpws/radar displays. If you called this item and attempted to turn the ground warning switch to on; it would not come on because the override selector was still in off and this being the case; we would catch this. This call out in the old checklist was great for having both pilots check the selection of their displays; catch a switch in the incorrect position. But it was removed in the new checklist. Also in the old procedure the terrain override switch was turned off and egpws; radar displays as required. Because this is removed in the new checklist; pilots could descend and enter the airport environment with the egpws turned off.

Title: A B757-200 First Officer noted that removal of the EGPWS/RADAR item from the Approach Checklist could cause aircraft to enter the airport environment with the EGPWS system disabled.
