Narrative:
While working reroutes due to thunderstorms; my messaging tool stopped working. I was not receiving any messages. I missed the reroute from my crew on the ground which caused them to leave the gate much later than if it was working. While that was happening another one of my flights inbound; sent me info that he was holding and was possibly going to divert. When I realized that I wasn't receiving any messages approximately 45 minutes had passed. In that time I missed numerous messages.
