Narrative:
Had #3 fuel gauge with mco as inoperative. After refueling noticed #3 gauge showed 3500 pounds less than it should. Checked fuel slip which verified tank had been drip sticked as per established procedures. After takeoff, aircraft took extra control input to right to maintain wings level. Determined fuel was indeed 3500 pounds out of balance. Elected to xfeed and burn fuel to level the fuel load. Aircraft trimmed and flew normal and no further problem was noted.
