Narrative:
While descending into billings; montana and in radio contact with billings approach control we were cleared for the visual to 28R localizer OTS. Throughout most of our descent center and approach both kept us quite high and I was continually trying to get back on path. We were on autopilot and planned to use VNAV/LNAV for additional guidance. After we leveled off at 5;200 ft I noticed our flight path indicating again that we were high. The football began dropping so I asked for a lower altitude to be placed into the FMC and began again to descend. Somewhere between 5;200 ft and 4;800 ft we briefly received the terrain caution. Evasive action was taken with no additional warnings.
