Narrative:
When we taxied from the runway to the terminal we utilized a taxiway that was conveniently located to our gate. It was a narrow taxiway but it was sufficient. Ground control had cleared us to the ramp without specific instructions. When I took a closer look at the fine print on the backside of the communication chart, I realized that we had used a prohibited taxiway. The taxiway in question is taxiway D. It is not well marked. I suggest that a sign be put up reminding pilots not to use this taxiway if they weigh over 50000 pounds. Pilots must also always remember to read their fine print on their approach plates.
