Narrative:
The runway 23 ALS has been OTS for over three years!!! After reading the maintenance response as to why this vital piece of equipment has not been fixed and doesn't seem to be a high priority; there needed to be someone to speak for the flying public. Numerous times people have been denied access to our airport due to a simple piece of equipment. Fog reduces visibility over the runway and without approach lights it raises the minimums. When someone dies due to this issue it might bring a closer look at why this has been allowed to continue for over three years!!! Fix the ALS... It's that simple.
