Narrative:
Aircraft would not maintain programmed cruise speed. Mach number at FL370. Aircraft performance charts and pdcs affirmed ability to do so. Request for lower altitude was made but not available. Turn was given for lower altitude and for traffic. Aircraft speed degraded to 210-205 KTS indicated. Possible solution: noting the rate of climb and airspeed during climb and having a minimum rate and speed in mind and not going below these limits.

Title: LGT CLEARED AT FL370, UNABLE NORMAL PERFORMANCE. CLEARED LOWER ALT WITH VECTOR TO DESCEND.
Narrative: ACFT WOULD NOT MAINTAIN PROGRAMMED CRUISE SPEED. MACH NUMBER AT FL370. ACFT PERFORMANCE CHARTS AND PDCS AFFIRMED ABILITY TO DO SO. REQUEST FOR LOWER ALT WAS MADE BUT NOT AVAILABLE. TURN WAS GIVEN FOR LOWER ALT AND FOR TFC. ACFT SPEED DEGRADED TO 210-205 KTS INDICATED. POSSIBLE SOLUTION: NOTING THE RATE OF CLIMB AND AIRSPEED DURING CLIMB AND HAVING A MINIMUM RATE AND SPEED IN MIND AND NOT GOING BELOW THESE LIMITS.
