Narrative:
We had a ci 'fwd airstair door light stays on.' I informed operations we would need forward airstairs door verified closed visually before I left the gate. It was verified and so reported to me. After takeoff the cabin would not pressurize. Very loud wind noise coming from under floor behind captain's seat. Sent first officer back to verify front door was closed and secure and to advise F/a we were not pressurized. Since the problem was stabilized and I knew what the probable cause was I decided to proceed on to tpa unpressurized at 5000'. We arrived 10 mins late. Maintenance met the aircraft and verified the forward airstairs door had popped open about an inch. The incident was written of in the ships log book and dispatch was notified. On next takeoff all was well.
