En route at FL350; received a level one hydraulic 1 off alert. [We] declared an emergency with center. Uneventful landing was able to taxi clear of the runway. Stopped aircraft on taxiway; was inspected by maintenance and ground personnel; hooked up to a tug; and towed to our gate. Good coordination all the way around.

Title: MD-10 flight crew reported loss of #1 hydraulic system. After coordinating with appropriate entities a normal landing ensued.
Narrative: En route at FL350; received a level one HYD 1 OFF alert. [We] declared an emergency with Center. Uneventful landing was able to taxi clear of the runway.
