Narrative:
We removed the nose landing gear sliding tube; replaced the internal seals; reinstalled same and serviced. After servicing; we performed gear swing for operational check; no defects noted and aircraft was returned to service. Upon first flight rotation; landing gear failed to retract and aircraft returned to the field. Maintenance was performed in the hangar. [Contributing factors] yet to be determined; nose landing gear assembly removed and replaced.

Title: Two Mechanics report an Embraer ERJ aircraft returned to field on the first flight after they had removed the Nose Landing Gear sliding tube; replaced internal seals and performed gear swings. The Nose Landing Gear would not retract after takeoff.
Narrative: We removed the Nose Landing Gear sliding tube; replaced the internal seals; reinstalled same and serviced.
