Narrative:
Ground cleared me to taxi from the main/passenger ramp to the north ramp via alpha hold at 32. The active in use was 23 and as I was being given the clearance I was watching the activity on 23. I taxied on alpha and crossed 32. The controller called my attention to the fact that I had crossed 32 after being told to hold at 32. My response was that I had heard him say 32, but had transposed 23 and 32 in my mind as I taxied. After this incident I have begun writing down even simple ground instructions so as to be able to have something better than memory and similar runway numbers for reminding me.

Title: CLEARED TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 32, DIDN'T.
Narrative: GND CLRED ME TO TAXI FROM THE MAIN/PAX RAMP TO THE NORTH RAMP VIA ALPHA HOLD AT 32. THE ACTIVE IN USE WAS 23 AND AS I WAS BEING GIVEN THE CLRNC I WAS WATCHING THE ACTIVITY ON 23. I TAXIED ON ALPHA AND CROSSED 32. THE CTLR CALLED MY ATTN TO THE FACT THAT I HAD CROSSED 32 AFTER BEING TOLD TO HOLD AT 32. MY RESPONSE WAS THAT I HAD HEARD HIM SAY 32, BUT HAD TRANSPOSED 23 AND 32 IN MY MIND AS I TAXIED. AFTER THIS INCIDENT I HAVE BEGUN WRITING DOWN EVEN SIMPLE GND INSTRUCTIONS SO AS TO BE ABLE TO HAVE SOMETHING BETTER THAN MEMORY AND SIMILAR RWY NUMBERS FOR REMINDING ME.
