Narrative:
After landing on runway 13R at dfw; we were cleared to cross runway 18R; and hold short of 18L on taxiway wm. I misunderstood the clearance; and thought we had been cleared to cross both 18L and 18R. I verbalized; 'roger; cleared to cross'; and crossed both runways. We had not been cleared to cross runway 18L; and I realized this after we crossed and heard an aircraft abort due to traffic on the runway. I believe that rather than saying; 'cleared to cross'; if I had said; 'cleared to cross both 18L and 18R'; it would have improved our chances of correcting my misunderstanding of the clearance.
