Narrative:

I was trying to tag air carrier widebody transport that had not automatic-acquired on departure. At about the time I tagged widebody transport ATC's controller plugged in at south control with me and asked why the limited data block XXXX code was at 7000'. I said I did not know and had not noticed it. He showed me a strip of light transport. Both the widebody transport and the light transport codes were 7000'. I asked widebody transport and light transport to identify. At that time light transport said he was deviating right of course to avoid wake turbulence from a widebody transport passing to his left. I then advised the satcs that I believed less than standard separation had occurred between widebody transport and light transport. The computer data extract later showed 1 1/2 mi sep at the same altitude, 7000'.
